Use this when: a schedule finished, or was canceled, and the same parent entry should start repeating again.
Steps #
- Open the parent entry: Forms → (your form) → Entries → (the entry).
- Find the card for the feed you want.
- Click Start Series From Now.
That’s it. A new series begins, using the current saved entry and the feed’s current settings.
What “From Now” Actually Means #
It schedules a future occurrence. It does not submit anything right now.
The new series applies the feed’s recurrence interval first, then its run time — so a daily feed started today runs for the first time tomorrow at the configured time.
To submit immediately, use Run Next Submission Now after the series exists. To choose a specific first date, use Change next submission.
What the New Series Inherits #
| From the feed, as it is now | Fresh |
|---|---|
| Cadence, run time, timezone | Progress starts at zero |
| Allowed weekdays | The end condition restarts from scratch |
| Missed-run policy | A new schedule snapshot and revision |
| End condition and limit | |
| Input mode |
The old series’ attempt history stays in Queue for the retention window. The new series gets its own.
Note: the limit restarts. A 12-submission series that completed and is restarted will run 12 more times.
When the Button Appears #
Start Series From Now shows when:
- the entry has no series for that feed, or its series is completed or canceled, and
- the feed is active, and
- you hold the management capability, and
- the series is not blocked pending review after a storage failure.
When It Doesn’t Appear — and Why #
| Situation | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Series is paused | It still exists | Use Resume |
| Series is failed | It still exists | Fix the cause, then Retry or Resume |
| Series is scheduled | It’s already running | Nothing to do |
| Feed is inactive | Deactivated feeds start nothing | Reactivate it on the Feeds tab |
| Records need review | A storage failure may have created a child | Review child entries and attempt history first |
| No card at all | The form has no recurring feed and the entry has no series | Create a feed |
After Restoring a Trashed Parent #
Trashing or permanently deleting a parent entry immediately cancels all its unfinished series — including paused and processing ones.
Restoring the parent does not restart them. That’s deliberate: an accidental restore should never silently resume automated submissions.
To resume after a restore, click Start Series From Now explicitly.
Restarting Many Series #
There is no bulk restart. For a programme-wide restart:
- Confirm the feed is active and its settings are current.
- Open each parent entry and click Start Series From Now.
If the parents will be re-submitted anyway, new submissions start their own series automatically — no restart needed.
Bulk series actions are on the roadmap.
