Use this when: one schedule needs to run on a different date or time, and everything else about it is fine.
Don’t use this when: you want to change how often it repeats — that’s a feed setting. See Change the Schedule for Existing Series.
Steps #
- Open GravityOps → Recurring Submissions → Queue and find the series. (Or open the parent entry and use the card’s Change next submission button, which opens Queue in a new tab.)
- Click Change next submission.
- Enter the full next date and time.
- Click Preview and read the continuing cadence it projects.
- Save.
What Changes, and What Doesn’t #
| ✅ Changes | ❌ Stays the same |
|---|---|
| The next target | The recurrence interval |
| The anchor the following occurrences are counted from | Progress and successful counts |
| The end condition and its limit | |
| Attempt history | |
| The paused state — this does not resume a series |
The cadence continues from the date and time you chose. Set a weekly series to next Thursday and it runs every Thursday after that.
Common Uses #
Pull the first occurrence earlier #
A new schedule always puts its first occurrence a full interval out. If a daily feed saved at 01:14 should run today at 01:20 rather than tomorrow, start the series and then move its next submission to today.
Shift a run off a holiday #
Move that one occurrence to the next working day. Subsequent runs follow from there.
Re-align a series that drifted #
If a manual run put a series out of step with its siblings, set the target you want and the rhythm re-anchors.
When the Button Isn’t There #
| Situation | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Series is completed or canceled | There is no next occurrence | Use Start Series From Now |
| Series is locked | Something is submitting it right now | Wait for the attempt to finish |
| Series is processing | Same | Wait |
| Records need review after a storage failure | Submissions are blocked to prevent duplicates | Review the child entries and attempt history first |
Paused and failed series can have their next submission changed — but changing it does not restart them. Use Resume for that.
Doing This for Many Series #
There is no bulk date editor. For many series on the same feed, either:
- edit the feed and apply the saved schedule to existing series, which recalculates future targets for the whole set, or
- move each series individually when the dates genuinely differ.
Bulk per-series actions are on the roadmap.
