Quick Setup Checklist

Follow this checklist to get your GravityOps Forum up and running in minutes.

1. Installation #

• Upload and activate the gravityops-forum plugin.
• Ensure Gravity Forms is active.

2. Global Settings #

• Go to Forms > GravityOps > Forum and navigate to the Configuration tab.
• Set your Forum Base Slug (default is forum).
• Verify that Enable Custom Rewrite Rules is checked (recommended).
• Click Save Configuration.

3. Create Forum Content #

• Navigate to the Forums tab.
• Create at least one Board (e.g., “Main Community”).
• Use Manage Forums on that board.
• Create a Forum (e.g., “General Discussion”) and assign its access set.

4. Shortcode Setup (Optional) #

• Create a new WordPress Page (e.g., titled “Community”).
• Add the [gofrm_index] shortcode to the page content.
• (Optional) Create additional pages for [gofrm_profile], etc. GravityOps will automatically discover these pages for navigation.

5. Verify Permissions #

• By default, Administrators have full access.
• Create Access Sets in the Access tab to define who can view, post, and moderate.
• Map these Access Sets to WordPress User Roles (e.g., Subscribers).
• Assign your Access Sets to individual Forums.

6. Test Your Forum #

• Visit the front-end of your site at /forum/ (or your chosen slug).
• Ensure you can see your boards and forums.
• Try creating a topic and posting a reply.
