GravityOps Charts

GravityOps Charts visualizes your Gravity Forms data as interactive charts. Build dashboards and reports by embedding Chart.js charts directly into pages using the [gravityops_chart] shortcode, with full support for filtering, grouping, aggregation, and date ranges.

Embedding a Chart #

Add the [gravityops_chart] shortcode to any page or post. At minimum, specify the form_id:

[gravityops_chart form_id="1"]

Chart Configuration #

The shortcode accepts the following attributes:

Data & Display

  • chart_type — Type of chart: pie, donut, bar, stacked_bar, horizontal_bar, line, area (default: pie)
  • x_axis — Field to use on the X-axis (field ID or name)
  • y_axis — Field to aggregate on the Y-axis (field ID or name)
  • group_by — Field to group results by (optional)
  • aggregate — Aggregation method: sum, count, average, min, max (default: count)
  • title — Chart title
  • subtitle — Chart subtitle
  • x_label — Label for the X-axis
  • y_label — Label for the Y-axis
  • labels — Custom legend labels (comma-separated)

Filtering & Performance

  • section — Form section name to limit data to
  • start_date — Filter entries from this date (e.g., 2024-01-01)
  • end_date — Filter entries until this date (e.g., 2024-12-31)
  • filters — Semicolon-separated filter rules. Each rule is field_id=value, field_id!=value, or field_id:operator=value. Operators: is, isnot, contains, starts, ends, in (pipe-separated values). Example: filters="3=Donation Program;5=Active".
  • filters_mode — all (AND logic) or any (OR logic) across multiple rules (default: all)
  • max_entries — Cap the number of entries read (default: 5000)
  • cache_ttl — Cache duration in seconds (default: 300); use 0 to disable

Access

  • access — private requires the viewer to have the configured capability; public intentionally exposes the aggregate chart data (default: private)
  • capability — Capability required for private charts (default: gform_full_access)

Styling

  • height — Chart container height in pixels
  • max_points — Maximum data points to display

Debugging

  • debug — Show admin-only metadata; visible to users with gform_full_access (default: 0)

In the GravityOps dashboard #

Open GravityOps → Charts (or a form’s Settings → Charts tab, which opens the Builder). The page has these tabs:

  • Overview — what the plugin does at a glance.
  • Builder — a visual builder for the [gravityops_chart] shortcode. Pick a form and chart type, choose the category/axis/value fields, add filters and a date range, and see a live preview rendered from your real entries. Copy the finished shortcode, or give it a name and Save it.
  • Saved Charts — your saved charts. Copy a shortcode, Edit in builder, or delete.
  • Docs — this documentation, right in your dashboard.
  • Help — support links.
