If the feed settings don’t load and you see a message instead, the plugin is showing an error from Asana. Here are the most common messages and what to do next.
What you might see #
- “There was a problem with your authorization to Asana…” Your connection to Asana encountered an error. Check here for more details.
- “Your current Asana plan does not grant the required API access.” The action needs features your Asana plan doesn’t include.
- “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this feature.” The connected Asana user can’t access the project/field you’re trying to use.
- “Something went wrong on the Asana side… (unique phrase…)” Temporary issue on Asana’s end. The message includes a unique phrase for support.
- “Access to the Asana API was blocked due to legal reasons.” Asana blocked access (e.g., embargoed IP addresses).
- “Oops. Something went wrong. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please turn on Gravity Forms logging and contact support.” A general error, including rate limits or missing resources.
What to do #
- Try again once. Temporary blips happen.
- Re‑authenticate if you see the authorization message (follow the link in the message to re‑connect).
- Check access if you see the permissions message (ask your Asana admin to grant the connected user access to the needed project/fields).
- Plan message shown? Upgrade your Asana plan or adjust your workflow to available features.
- Asana-side message with a unique phrase? Try again later. If it continues, contact support and include that phrase.
- General error message? Try again. If it persists, turn on Gravity Forms logging and contact support, including the exact text of the message you see.
