  • Build a Pipeline Board from a Status Field

Build a Pipeline Board from a Status Field

Goal: Visualize entries by status using a single‑select field (Radio/Select).

  1. Create a new View and select the Source Form.
  2. Choose Kanban as the View Type.
  3. In View Settings → Kanban Column, select the single‑select field you use for status/stage.
  4. Choose which choices to display as columns (e.g., New, In Review, Approved).
  5. (Optional) In Uncategorized, choose whether to show when empty.
  6. In Cards, set a Title (required) and optional Body fields.
  7. Configure your Single Entry (single card) layout if needed.
  8. Save, then drag cards between columns to update the status field automatically.

Build a Workflow Board with Gravity Flow Steps #

Goal: Use Gravity Flow steps as columns and move entries through the workflow visually.

  1. Create a new View and select the Source Form.
  2. Choose Kanban as the View Type.
  3. In View Settings → Kanban Column, select Workflow.
  4. Choose which steps to show as columns.
  5. (Optional) In Uncategorized, choose whether to show when empty.
  6. In Cards, set a Title (required) and an optional Body.
  7. Configure the Single Entry (single card) layout if needed.
  8. Save, then drag cards to another column to update the entry’s current step.

Use Inline Editing on the Board #

Goal: Edit fields quickly without leaving the board (where permitted by GravityView settings).

  1. Ensure Inline Edit is enabled in your GravityView settings for the View/fields you want to edit.
  2. Open the board and use inline edit where available to change field values.
  3. Changes save to the entry and can trigger notifications as configured.

Filter or Segment Cards #

Goal: Show only the subset of entries relevant to a user or scenario.

  1. Add filters or search widgets in the View as you normally do in GravityView.
  2. Use permissions to limit who can view the view, consistent with your GravityView setup.
  3. Save and verify that the board reflects the configured filters and permissions.

Combine with Other GravityView Features #

Goal: Leverage standard GravityView capabilities alongside the Kanban layout.

  • Use lightbox or single entry layouts for detailed views.
  • Pair with notifications so that edits or Card Moved events send updates to the right people.
